Founder and Partner

Gershon is the founder and principal of Imperial Advisory. In this role, Gershon has provided CFO services for companies across a wide range of industries, acting as an advisor to CEOs and CFOs on issues relating to both day-to-day profitability and long-term strategic growth planning. He began his career developing financial projections and working on special projects relating to Nassau County’s $2.7 billion budget, before continuing on to work in the bond industry as both an investment banker and issuer. In addition, Gershon is an Adjunct Professor of Finance at Touro College where he helps mold the next generation of business students.

Gershon received his MBA in Finance from Hofstra University and his B.A. in Business from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Ken Hamada

Partner and FP&A

Ken joined Imperial Advisory in 2021 as a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Specialist and became a Partner in 2023. He has more than 20 years of experience in finance and accounting with extensive experience managing the financial aspects of public, private, and private equity-owned services, wholesale distribution, E-commerce, and real estate entities. Ken has a successful track record of leading finance operations for a billion-dollar international service corporation. His expertise includes complex forecasting, reporting, and partnering with executive leadership on long-range planning initiatives.

Ken currently serves as a Partner at Imperial Advisory and a finance consultant to small/midsized companies in multiple industries providing FP&A and strategic growth advisory services.

Ken received his B.S. from SUNY Oneonta in Accounting and Finance.

Andrew DeFrancesco

Andrew joined Imperial Advisory in May 2022 as a Portfolio CFO with 50 years of experience under his belt. Among that, he had 40 years of success across tobacco, logistics, and supply chain industries. Before joining the Imperial Advisory team, he was a CFO with ‘National Convenience Distributors’ for over 27 years and worked at CPA firms for 18 years. Andrew’s areas of expertise, amongst other professional skills obtained, include private equity, business planning, financial modeling, tax analysis, negotiations, and M&A.  Andrew has a reputation for substantially improving business growth and profit.

Andrew received his B.A. in Accounting from Baruch College and is a licensed CPA in the state of New York.

Barry M. Shereck

Barry joined Imperial Advisory in 2021 as a Portfolio CFO. Barry has more than 40 years of experience in finance and operations. For the past 40 years, he has held roles as COO and CFO at six different companies. He is experienced in mergers and acquisitions, both domestic and cross-border, and is an efficient negotiator and expert modeler. The industries he has worked in include video technology, entertainment, health and wellness, and camera manufacturing and distribution. Additionally, he has international experience, especially in Europe, Japan, and China.

Barry received his MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business and is a licensed CPA in the state of New York.

Mark Selawski

Mark joined Imperial Advisory in 2021 as a Portfolio CFO, bringing more than 40 years of experience in finance and business to the group. Mark has spent more than 30 years in the healthcare field, concentrating in small to mid-sized device companies, both private and publicly traded. He has been the Chief Financial Officer of four different companies in the past 25 years and has been instrumental in mergers, divestitures, spinouts, incubation, and acquisitions in each of these companies. He has also been deeply involved in operations, supply chain, product development, and other functions that heavily influence financial planning and resource management.  

Mark earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a specialty in accounting from Bowling Green State University.

Jim joined Imperial Advisory in 2021 as a Portfolio CFO. Jim has 33 years of experience streamlining and reengineering global operations with a background in finance, accounting, and supply chain management. He has held roles as COO and CFO at numerous companies where he implemented ERP systems and sustainable business processes to drive growth while focusing management on developing teams to become adept at delivering scalable business solutions. He has worked extensively in retail and spent five and four years, respectively, in the defense industry and not-for-profit arena. Jim also has international experience having built businesses in Australia, HK, and China. 

Jim received his MBA from Boston University. 

Stephen Rupolo

Stephen joined Imperial Advisory in 2022 as a Portfolio CFO. Stephen has a proven track record of delivering dramatic improvements to business growth and profitability. He joined Imperial Advisory in January of 2022 as a Portfolio CFO with over 30 years of expertise in corporate finance and numerous acquisitions under his guidance. For the past 15 years, Stephen has held roles in the Information Technology sector as Vice President of Product Strategy and CFO. He is experienced in analyzing acquisition candidates and integrating acquisitions into organizations. Additionally, Stephen is incredibly successful at leading various departments, turning an organization into a unified team.
Stephen received his B.S. in Accounting from Syracuse University and is a licensed CPA in the state of New York.

Bob Doyle

Advisor; Retired Partner

Bob joined Imperial Advisory in 2019 as a Portfolio CFO and became a partner in 2021. He began his career in public accounting and then went on to lead a customer-focused team at CSC ServiceWorks, a top provider of home and commercial laundry and air vending solutions. Over Bob’s 30 years at CSC, the company went from a $50 million family business to a publicly traded, and then private equity backed $1 billion international behemoth. After serving as CFO of CSC, Bob was promoted to CEO, where he more than doubled the company’s size in seven years.

Bob received his B.A. in Accounting and Business Management from Hofstra University and is a licensed CPA in the state of New York.

Brittney Taylor

Brittney is a dynamic professional with a diverse background in military service, finance, and project management. Having served in the Navy for nine commendable years as an Aviation Administration, she honed her skills in organizational management and attention to detail. Following her military career, Brittney transitioned to the financial sector, where she worked at Edward Jones for two years, gaining valuable experience in client relations and financial planning. Currently, she thrives in her role at Oracle as a Project Consultant, where she leverages her strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to drive successful project outcomes. Additionally, Brittney contributes her administrative expertise to Imperial Advisory, where she serves as an Administrative Assistant, ensuring smooth operations and supporting the team in achieving their goals. With her strong work ethic and multifaceted skill set, Brittney continues to make a significant impact in various professional domains.
